| CompTIA Linux+ Certification
CompTIA Linux+ is a vendor-neutral certification, generic
across distributions, that validates the knowledge of
individuals with a minimum of six to twelve months of
practical Linux experience. Professionals holding the
CompTIA Linux+ credential can explain fundamental management
of Linux systems from the command line, demonstrate
knowledge of user administration, understand file permissions,
software configurations, and management of Linux-based
clients, server systems and security."The Linux+ certification measures vendor-neutral Linux knowledge and skills for an individual with at least 6 months practical experience. The target market for Linux+ certification is any individual interested in demonstrating fundamental Linux knowledge and skills."
There is one level of Linux+ Certification:
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
"The Red Hat Certified EngineerTM (RHCE) Exam is a performance-based practical exam. RHCE proves that a person has skills and competency at Red Hat Linux installation, configuration, debugging, setup of key networking services such as Apache, DNS, NFS, DHCP, and security, so that the person is 'ready from a technical point of view for professional responsibilities in managing a Red Hat Linux system for common enterprise uses'."
There is four level of Red Hat certification:
- RH033 Red Hat Linux Essentials
For individuals with no command-line experience in Linux or UNIX who want to develop skills for using and customizing Red Hat Linux workstations.
- RH035 Red Hat Linux Essentials for Windows Professionals
Designed for Windows professionals with no prior UNIX or Linux experience, this course teaches fundamental Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration skills.
- RH133 System Administration
For users of Linux/UNIX who want to start building skills in systems administration on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to a level where they can attach and configure a workstation on an existing network. Includes the RH202 RHCT Certification Lab Exam on the last day.
- RH253 Red Hat Linux Networking & Security Administration
Teaches skills necessary to setup a Red Hat Linux server and configure common network services and security at a basic level.
- RH300 RHCE Rapid Track Course
Designed for those who already possess significant systems administration experience and knowledge in a Linux/UNIX environment, and who desire the fastest path to RHCE certification. Includes the RHCE Exam on the last day.
